Ginger Hilb

Berlin, Head of Offices

Ginger is our Head of Offices, based in the Berlin office. With a constant smile on her lips, she makes sure that our guests feel welcome and that everyone on our team always feels at ease.

I was born and raised in Berlin and moved to Hamburg at the age of 14. After finishing school, I spent a year in Chicago working as an au pair. This experience abroad had a lasting impact on me, as I was inspired by the different cultures and languages I was able to experience firsthand. It made me realise early on that I wanted to work in an international environment, where I could continue to learn from and be inspired by diverse cultural perspectives.

After returning to Germany, I decided to pursue my interest in languages and studied Romance Studies, earning a Bachelor of Arts. During my studies, I spent a semester abroad in Madrid, where I was once again inspired and intrigued by different cultures and an international environment, further intensifying my desire to work in a field where I can combine these aspects. Alongside my studies, I held several working student roles in events, service, and front desk operations, which prepared me for many of the responsibilities reflected in the role of an Office Manager.

After graduating, I joined a daycare organization as an assistant to the management team, where I gained early exposure to operational and organizational dynamics. Over time, I progressed into the role of Director of one of the centers, overseeing a facility with more than 100 children and leading a multidisciplinary team.

This experience marked my first formal leadership role and played a key part in shaping my professional identity. I discovered that I thrive in fast-paced, people-centric environments where no two days are the same. Managing both the operational complexity and the human aspect of the role taught me how to balance structure with empathy, make decisions under pressure, and take full ownership of outcomes.

What I found particularly motivating was creating an environment in which both children and staff could feel supported and perform at their best. This sparked a strong interest in building well-functioning, positive workplaces and reinforced my passion for roles that combine operational responsibility with a strong focus on people and culture.

Our team in Iceland

When Creandum approached me about the Office Manager role in Berlin, I was immediately fascinated, as it felt like a natural extension of what I had grown to enjoy most in my previous role. From the very first interview, I was drawn to the openness and passion of the team. The position brings together exactly what motivates me: working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, taking ownership of operations, and creating a positive, well-functioning workplace that enables others to perform at their best. The opportunity to be part of an organization that supports founders in building and scaling startups that shape the future made the decision to join Creandum an easy one.

After working with children for a few years, I quickly realized that being part of a team of highly motivated startup professionals can sometimes feel just as lively, and occasionally just as mischievous ;) Outside of work, I’ve been playing tennis since childhood and enjoy spending my free time on the court. I’m also passionate about Zumba, which keeps my energy up and my sense of rhythm sharp. To unwind and recharge, I love reading, and sometimes get carried away, finishing more than 50 books in a year.
