Growing up, I was regularly described as ‘creative’ - which I suspect was parent-speak for ‘misbehaves a lot’. Then I discovered computers, and that creative energy had an outlet. What this meant at the time though: too many hours spent indoors obsessed with computer animation, building 3D models, and trying to make my own video games. Ultimately, this time instilled in me what has become a lifelong interest in technology’s ability to be a creativity multiplier.
School was more typical. I followed my interest in History and the Classics and read archaeology and ancient history at university. Aside from a few gloomy digs around Hadrian's Wall, most of my time was spent in the library - or at least should it have been. Watching apps like Uber, Tinder, and FlappyBirds sweep through campus - and fresh from watching The Social Network - I caught the bug, and set about teaching myself Objective-C. I gave myself the challenge of building an app, so I built 'Rare', a simple steak timer app that unexpectedly became quite popular. Armed with this portfolio of one very basic app, I was able to wangle an internship (which became my first full-time role) at Zesty, a London-based healthtech startup, where I experienced firsthand what it meant to work in a scrappy, dedicated, early-stage team.
Skipping forward, I’ve held a succession of roles across consulting and big tech, including five years at Amazon - at Amazon Pay, and then Prime Video, where I had my first venture into 'marketing'. Then I joined Coinbase, where I worked on product marketing for the UK and Northern Europe, navigating the challenges of building a consumer facing brand with regulators breathing down your neck. Then staying within crypto, I joined Kraken's global marketing team, helping new assets list on the exchange.
I joined the team at Creandum in summer 2025, excited by the opportunity to use my experience from startups, FAANG, crypto, and consulting across the ever-changing needs of the firm and our portfolio. My focus here is twofold: finding new ways to support our founders and their companies, and amplifying the Creandum team's achievements. In many ways it feels like I’ve come full circle back to that original fascination with technology as a creativity multiplier that started way back.
